Values and Principles

Counselling is a talking therapy.  The purpose of counselling is to help identify any issues that cause emotional stress, especially during difficult times in our lives. It can help to work through any negative behaviours and restructure any unproductive thought patterns

Reaching out for counselling is a sign of strength, it also takes courage to get started. I will listen, I will hear you and we can work towards making positive changes at a pace you feel comfortable with.

This is an investment in you.

Mental health is important, make yours a priority.

Therefore, our work together is guided by several important values and principles that contributes to a strong therapeutic relationship between therapist and client.

Respect

Finding help or somewhere safe to turn to can be challenging, especially when dealing with depression, abuse, or self-worth to name a few. You will be treated with the utmost respect and reassurance  during your time here.   By supporting you unconditionally, and without judgement, together, we can  work towards  finding a positive outcome and  create realistic goals.

Strengths

We believe the strength to heal and the courage to experience change  is  within each of us.  With therapy you can reconnect with your inherent strengths and empower your courage to work through these challenges to achieve the life you desire to live.  We recognize that building a trusting relationship with your therapist is a crucial element to getting the help you need.  Therapists don't have  the answers but they will help you  work towards finding yours.  Sometimes, by changing the way you  look at things, the things we look at change.
